Career Background
Dr. Falahati has a vast experience in different fields of engineering such as mechanical engineering, material science and quality control, through his scientific and industrial background. He began his career at Shiraz Petrochemical Complex in the technical inspection Department. In 1987, he transferred from inspection department as Senior-Eng.-Inspector and joined the engineering department. He has been effectively involved in construction and modification of different plants. In 1992, he left the Petrochemical Complex in his last position as head of mechanical engineering. His work in different petrochemical plants made him deeply acquainted with materials property profile requirements in industry and material difficulties arising in service.
From 1997 to 2001, he was working as scientific staff in the Institute of Material Science and Testing of the Vienna University of Technology and as an employee of Material Center Leoben.
During 2002 to 2005, Dr. Falahati was the Managing Director of the Technical inspection company “Sinntec Qualitätsmanagement GmbH” in Austria, rendering technical quality control and technical inspection services throughout Europe.
In 2005, he rejoined the Institute of Material Science and Technology at TU Wien. In this period, he gained different experience as senior researcher and head of the Aluminum modeling group. He gave and gives different lecture series at TU Wien, such as “Surface engineering”, “Material characterization and nondestructive testing”, “Science and technology of aluminum processing” and “Light metals”. He has been the manager of different projects and has supervised many master and PhD theses.
From 2015 to 2022, he was CEO of MatCalc Engineering GmbH.
